VINTAGE COIN MACHINES
BOOK REVIEW

.

Here is what may become the encyclopedia of coin operated machines. A hardcover book that is all in color. That's right, all in color. Almost 700 machines are displayed in beautiful color. It make a big difference when you can see rare machines in color. That alone make this book a masterpiece.

Let me give you an overview of what's in this book. There are separate chapters on slot machines, jukeboxes, pinball, arcade, trade stimulators, vending, and scales. For example, there are 120 slots pictured, 75 jukeboxes, and 35 scales plus over 500 photos of other kinds of coin machines. This book has something for everyone.

This is not just a picture book, but a historical reference and collectors guide as well. There is a chapter on how to build a collection, another one on coin machine resources, and of course a price guide.

Dick Bueschel is the author. Dick states that the purpose of his book is to capture the charm and excitement of coin machine history, identification and collecting. He achieved his goal. For example, Dick estimates that more than 8,500 different pinball games have been mae, 3,500 different slot machines, an estimated 9000 arcade machine, at least 1000 scales, 1000 jukeboxes, 1000 trade stimulators and over 10,000 vending machines . . . that's over 30,000 . . . and you thought you wanted to collect one of each machine.
