Most of the recent pinball books are history books covering the entire 60 year history of the pinball machine. This new book Pinball Machines by Eiden and Lukas is the first pinball book written by a collector of pinball backglasses so, as you would expect, it features photos mainly in color of his pinball glass collection. Over 200 backglasses from the late 1960's to the late 1980's are featured which is great because most collectors look for machines from this period.

There are also brief articles on designing and building backglasses and hints on backglass restoration.Unlike most other pinball books, the history section discusses the history of the solid state pinball machine that started in the mid 1970s. This 165 page hardback book sells for $39.95.
